As a child Deanna was privileged to live a small town and country life for many years.
From birth in Kentucky, to Florida, Indiana, Louisiana and then Oklahoma. Learning a love of horses as a child drew her to western culture while living on their ranch in Oklahoma.
A medical situation caused a move in her family’s life to Illinois then back to Kentucky.
An opportunity in Texas arose a few years later and the family moved to San Antonio.
It is in Texas Deanna met her husband Jerry, a native Texan. They married in 1985. After 14 years together in San Antonio, the couple moved to Blanco, Texas, back to small town country life.
Deanna’s start in women’s ministry came from serving as leader of the Women’s Missionary Union at First Baptist Church of Blanco, TX in 2003. Having lived in numerous communities in several states Deanna was able to understand diversity in others' lives. With a love for the Lord and a yearning to see women use their gifts, to speak and be heard, Deanna began speaking at various engagements and events.
In 2006 Deanna and husband, Jerry began attending a local Cowboy Church. When Jerry was called into music ministry, Deanna found herself also called. They have traveled extensively sharing the Word of God and the love of Jesus through music, testimony, and teaching. The Dossers, known as Western Sonrise Ministries, find themselves mainly in Cowboy Churches because of their love of Country Gospel Music and Western Culture.
Deanna Dosser began Dragonfly Women’s ministries in 2015 from a desire to bring women together to feel loved, accepted, encouraged and equipped to pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The Dragonfly represents transformation. Jesus Christ brings that transformation.
She has completed the Foundation Certificate from Baylor University’s Truett Seminary Certificate Program. Deanna continues toward an Advanced Certificate of Ministry and a Certificate of Ministry in Western Heritage. Deanna was ordained under Tejas Missional Communities/Tejas Cowboy Church.
Deanna’s interests include music, quilting, knitting, painting and DIY projects. She spends much time involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Deanna reminds women of Exodus 14:14 "The Lord your God will fight for you, you need only be still". The last part is often the most difficult. However just knowing that the Lord of ALL is fighting for us gives us strength to stand.
Sherri is a God-fearing, born-again Christian since 1984. She has been a member of Hubbard Cowboy Church in Hubbard, Texas for over 10 years.
She grew up in Athens, Texas and is retired from Brookshire Grocery Company where she wore many hats. Sherri's career took her from Cashier to Trainer into Management and teaching at the Brookshire University.
Sherri is a mother of two amazing children, son Scottie and daughter Vickie. along with three Stepchildren, Stacy, Billie and Shane. from her husband of 20 years Billy. Sherri says," They are all my children, and I feel truly blessed and in God's favor with how He has gifted me with family".
Spending time with her grandchildren, woodworking and fishing are Sherri's favorite pastimes.
In ministry and in her personal life, Sherri's goal is to encourage all women in all walks of life and to let them know that they are worthy and loved.
One of Sherr's favorite scripture verses is Romans 12:12 " Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer". She believes we should always lift others up in prayer and in spirit.
I am a sinner saved by Grace. What I recently realized is how much I had straddled the fence, always leaning a little more to the right (self-righteousness and pride) with the other foot stuck in the quicksand. I have run from the Lord, I have run to Him, but He was always before me, picking me up out of the mirey clay until finally i yielded to His call.
Jesus has given me peace that passes all understanding in so many ways, so many times over so many years and even more so as a recent widow. I cannot help but trust Him and I want my life to reflect that the Joy of the Lord is my strength.
I was involved in Cowboy church ministry with my husband for over 20 years in 3 different church plants. Together we supported these church plants in many ways, but specifically I supported my husband in his music ministry.
I worked with the children, created curriculum to speak Jesus into these precious hearts and help them memorize scripture so they could recall the Word of God in their future times of need. Working with kids is humbling, they know when you are prepared or not. This pushed me to pray for them, over them and for myself. If I expected them to memorize scripture, then I had to memorize also.
I have 3 adult children, 5 grandchildren with whom I love to spend time. I enjoy writing and the arts, I am learning to sign to praise songs. I love to love on people and offer a smile any time I can.
My life verses:
Psalm 46:10
"Be still and know that I am God"
Psalm 121:1-2
"I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth".
Psalm 40:2
"He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the mirey clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings". .
I am a daughter of the King, greatly loved, completely forgiven, accepted unconditionally.
I come from from a family of 5 girls, parents both deceased. Born in CA, moved to TX in 1972.
Gave my life to Christ when I was appx 12 years old, a prodigal after that until 1992 when God snatched me from a promiscuous lifestyle of very bad choices. His Holy Spirit entered me – I remember it clearly. My life changed after that day – forever.
As for my career, I freelanced as a graphics operator for over 23 years, travelling a lot. I now work at USAA in San Antonio.
I have enjoyed volunteering at an Equine Therapy Ranch for the past 10 years as well as doing some quilting in my spare time. My church is Tejas Missional Community – discipling is now my mission.
